Please Suggest Mail Order Company for Shock Absorber in UK

Hello there,

My front Koni shocks are getting fatigued.
However my Fiat Punto is now very rare in my country, available aftermarket parts are even rarer or unreasonably expensive.

Does anyone know honest mail order company in UK which deliver worldwide?
I've been searching on google, but it's going ineffectively.

Does it have to be Koni? It's always a good idea to change all four.

Surely you can find a set of KYB or similar and get on with it.
The Punto isn't exactly a rare exotic, is it?

Punto is SURELY not exotic.
I said it's getting rare in my country. Fiat is fading out the market here.

It doesn't have to be Koni.
I'm just looking for resources who are willing to sell me something.

Is KYB any good?
Does it have any model compatible with Koni Sport?

They have various ranges and are usually a no-nonsense replacement for worn out stock units.

I'd also check eBay in Europe or the States, you might find a set at a good price inclusive postage.

Not really familiar with your car, but if it has a conventional shock absorber you may be able to find a direct replacement intended for another car.

To do that, you need to find out the fully extended length of your stock shock, its fully compressed length, piston size and your car weight.

Here in America, you can go into an auto parts house and look through the back of a shock absorber catalog where they list the actual specs of the shocks. There is a very good chance your shock also was used on another car model that came out about the same time.

Also here in the U.S. there is a company that publishes a book called the "Hollander manual" used by wrecking yards (car breakers) to determine what components from other car models are interchangable to other brands / years. You might check to see if a similar book is available to salvage yards in your country.

Wow! That's indeed 'back to the basic'.
And it makes perfect sense.

I've also heard of some companies provide "custom-make" shocks.
I guess it's working in similar way.

However, here in my country, sadly, the car part market is not so "full-function". How I envy you!

There are indeed some common parts for cross-model applications, but those are mostly within same brand, similar models (for example, several generations of Civics are the most popular here, thus lots of parts available for them & many common ones exist).

And, like I said, Fiat is fading out the market here. Not very many Fiats are running on the streets. This makes my chances very few.

To make things even worse, I'm kind of picky in the balance between ride & handling, so the choices are narrowed down one step further.

Oh well, I deserve. I push myself into the corner.
