hi Richard

my system Is being finished off tomorrow morning and just wanna clarify a few points.

I will be running around 300bhp on a 1.6litre engine with max 23psi boost.

am I correct in saying:

1) the pre amp should be soldered at 2.5

2) MPS at 3 with the high boost running.

3) cut the existing connections to the two above.

4) for the flow sensor, we should solder 0+1 as its a single jet set up.

5) for setting failsafe point 1 says adjust SC to display 5-6 bars at full flow, how do u do that?

seen the kit on the car last week and looks brilliant, cant wait to drive it again!!

cheers
andy

5) you need to put the jet outside of the engine and manually active the system using the "SYS" jumper link. Then set the SC to display 5-6 bar.

You can set the WL and WH initially to 10am and 2 pm. It is all in the instruction.

kit all in and working well, just need to use the smaller jet as the 0.8m is injecting too much so going for the 0.6m option tomorrow.

0.6mm jet definitely working better, big jet was just pushing too much water in.

Checked the system yesterday, the pre amp gain has been left at 1? Should I change this to 2.5?

The SC is set at 5 o'clock
The Wl is set at 12 o'clock
The WH is set at 1 o'clock

Will change the WI and WH as advised above. This just needs them moved an no other amendments ?

The settings I have noted, is this why the water level and water injection lights both come on for a few seconds then the flow shows? Can't remember if the B lights up or not.

Appreciate ur help Richard , still very new to all this!

if you are using water only, 0.8mm jet is too much.

You failsafe window is far too narrow. try WL at 10am and WH at 2 pm. SS at 5pm indicates you need to solder link the flow sensor table to 0+1. (for a single jet) See page 22.

Once linked, your SC should be around 12 o'clock.

Can i just set the WL and WH to those settings without doing anything else like the test procedure etc or the how to guide on http://howertonengineering.com/tech-info/setting-the-dds3-failsafe/

andysharp
30-06-2013, 10:54 AM
basically just setting them by clicking the WL, WH round?

andysharp
30-06-2013, 01:05 PM
Set the SC at 12, WL at 10 and WH at 2, then test ising SYS and it trips failsafe both yellow lights are on and here it click.

When sc at 3, wl at 1and wh at 4, shows 5 bars flow, B lights up and no yellow lights.

Will test when driving home

well tried on way home and still trips the failsafe and no flow reading.

so went back to the previous settings as per picture below:

this is what it does when driving:

and when doing the manual test:

what am I doing wrong?? nothing on the back of the board has been soldered since received the product.

its 0.6mm jet that's being used, 50/50mix of meth/water, running from fuel injector signal.

Can you solder?

andysharp
30-06-2013, 02:59 PM
No but have friend who can or can use local company.

Is it the flow sensor table not being linked causing the issue?

Richard L
30-06-2013, 03:02 PM
Yes, the flow table must match the jet number. Until you have done the soldering, you can not set the faulsafe (SC, WL and WH) properly.

andysharp
30-06-2013, 03:07 PM
Ah!!!! My garage fitting hasnt done it correctly then!

Will get on the case!!

Should i also solder the pre amp to 2.5 ?

Richard L
30-06-2013, 03:16 PM
Why don't you send the controller back to me and I will get it done within the same day. I can also do some calibration for you on the 0.6mm jet.

Richard

morning Richard, that's the controller back already, many thanks!

now just set the SC at 12, WL at 10, WH at 2 and we all good? just click the SC, WL and WH round with small screwdriver and that's them set?

Richard L
03-07-2013, 10:44 AM
The WL and WH sets the failsafe window width. you need to trim them until the faislafe does not trigger on a daily drive cycle.

Don't forget to set the SC so the gauge does not exceed 6 bars under the manual test.

andysharp
03-07-2013, 10:48 AM
will be going out shortly so will let you know how it goes.

just blipping the throttle there the B was lighting up , the SC giving 4 bars which am fine with.

andysharp
03-07-2013, 11:30 AM
been out in car and running perfect now Richard!

cant thank you enough!!

put the threshold back to default and the SC, WL and WH at recommended points by urself and flowing 3 and 4 bars which is perfect for me, real pick up in the car when it kicks in!!!

Richard L
03-07-2013, 06:07 PM
Does 4 bars represent WOT?

andysharp
03-07-2013, 09:58 PM
not sure what you mean by WOT ?????

Richard L
03-07-2013, 10:42 PM
Wide open throttle

andysharp
03-07-2013, 11:44 PM
ah!!

yeh it does. car performs really well with it, pulls all the way to red line.

Richard L
04-07-2013, 08:13 AM
You can advance the SC to show 5-6 bars instead of 4 bars. May be a click or two will do it. Do the same for the WL and WH. (all clockwise)

andysharp
04-07-2013, 09:05 AM
will try that out Richard thanks.

well that's good month or so had the system running, what a system! awesome!!!!

so so glad have got proper aquamist system in the car now, aiding performance and engine protection on the carbon build up.

few pics here:

understand its preferred to be boot install Richard, so looking to make a cover for it to protect it.

speaking to Karl who also has a 207 with this kit, he suggested neoprene cover?

should I cover the full pump, certain sections, wiring?

cheers

Seal the cable gland from water ingression asap, if it is not too late already. I have mention this many times.

andysharp
26-08-2013, 05:13 PM
yeh will do, been nice and dry here.

Richard L
26-08-2013, 07:11 PM
It is a very clean install. Many congratulations.

Did you have the car tuned for more power?

andysharp
30-08-2013, 12:02 AM
Yeh very happy with it. Sealed the pump the other day, fuse relay is tucked away so shouldn't be any issues there.

Car running 280bhp now, 175bhp standard. 1.6litre engine

Yeh we prob gained around 10bhp with it in mid revs, tbh more using it for protection on the build up for the inlet valves this now along with some rear PCV alterations.

The hybrid turbo is slightly restricting power now, but think taken car as far as I want power wise now, had big bills on it this year it's piston rings going and turbo seal also so time to enjoy the car and its aquamist system!!!!
