hey guys, been running my HFS2 kit for 6+ years the one with the 160psi pump.

anyway for 5 years i had no major issues, just the nozzles clogging.

and this year since feb its has blown the 15a fuse every month since feb.
so im on the 5th fuse now - nothing has changed, cleaned the relay and battery terminal after replacing the last fuse

only thing i can think off is my car batter is 3+ years maybe its supplying less current, so the wmi pump draws extra to compensate and blows the fuse?

i would love to throw in a 20a but i dont want any fires!

Always my first question, where is the pump located?
Do no use a 20A fuse.

Hi Richard,

The pump is located behind the bumper just above the foglight on the passenger side
2007 9N3 Polo GTI 1.8T
i thought it would also be heat related but it has never done this before and it is winter at the moment..
temps below 10 deg C in the morning.

I would remove it from the bumpy and take it apart. I suspect the bearing is partially seized. You might be able to oil the bearings and might bring it back to life.

Every kit has a warning label stating the pump should be installed in the trunk. We supply ample cable length and hose.

Tx Richard I will do that if it happens again but I think I found the fault.
the fuse blew today again, I replaced the fuse and the system did not work
I replaced the relay, luckily I had a 5 pin relay of same spec (I see the female side on the HFS system is blank for the 5th center pin)
and the system worked again.
I think the relay was the fault all along and caused the fuses to blow until the relay finally gave up.
The clunk sound from the pump when turning the car into accessory mode is much louder than before... and its still using the same amount of meth it used to...
I really have faith in this system, I know a lot of other guys running other brands of wmi systems and all of them have replaced pumps and controllers in under a year!
6 years and still going strong baby!
this kit was bought from FRC aquamist reseller in SA (branded FRC as well on the pump)
