I've read an article about to inject water inside the exhaust manifold to create more stream while cool down the exhuast tempature and create more stream to spool up the turbo at low end, any expert on here heard of that? input and share what you got would be nice .

Thanks
Carlos

Just some thoughts:

1. Temp at exhaust manifold is very high, the nozzle/hose & water in them might be heated up so high & already vaporized before injection. The upstream pump might also be affected by the high temp when the water is not flowing. (Don't tell me it's gonna be injected continuously.)

2. Anything which is added into the exhaust manifold would increase the back pressure seen by the cylinders/pistons. So VE would suffer.

3. Cooling the exhaust gas also decrease the volume & pressure we need to drive the turbine. Maybe the added water can overcome this by vaporizing during injection. But it's hard to deploy & manage.
