Hi i am new to this forum and need some advice if someone would be so kind.

I have a Toyota 2.4 TD 4x4 and was looking to intercool it execpt it has proven almost impossible to do this due to the car being an automatic and where a IC could fit it taken up by the transmission cooler

So i was wondering is WI a alterative to intercooling and would it help to increase my torque and lower my smoke emissions?

Cheers

You may want to browse through the diesel forum --- lots of info out there. Diesels really like water/methanol injection, lots of performance available there, but you need to be careful you can get high enough cylinder pressures you can't keep head gaskets in the engine if you get carried away.

It will also as I understand it cut down the black smoke from over fueling under high power. One of the diesel guys can probably give you some first person feed back on that.

WI can be used to replace intercoolers if you use enough water. On some cars as you mention it works out better.
