I am using the Shurflo pump and have had trouble keeping pressure gauges alive because of the surges when the WI is activated.

Can anyone point me to some links for gauges that will work? I am looking for a 0-150psi or so mechanical analog gauge.

Thanks for the help.

I have also killed a water pressure gauge in a matter of minutes with my shurflo. You might want to use the allen screw damper that has been mentioned in the past.

Put a fine thread allen screw inside the pressure tube to the gauge, and the small passage past the allen screw will dampen most of the pressure pulse. That is what I'm going to try on my next gauge.

That is true, I did it. Killed an nice 45mm Omori gauge before, disassambled the gauge, made it work again, modified the gauge, so the needle would not stuck again. But due to the heave pulses I was afraid that the gauge would die again. So I installed an 3mm ss screw into the 4 mm line, and amazingly it does dampen enough.

get a snubber from swagelok or mcmaster carr. they will protect the gauge from pressure surge and shock

I'm using an electric oil pressure guage, as it's a stepper motor drive it doesn't seem to react fast enough to have any issues. I'm also using a fuel pressure regulator to hold a more constant pressure.

They can be found fairly cheaply on Ebay.
