View Full Version : Turbocharger Breaks on Diesel Engines????

Hi all;

We're observing that on some turbodiesel cars (2) we installed the aquamist the turbocharger is going to break!!! :shock:

Does somebody has ideas for that?

The mainly cars are 1.9 Mjet Alfa Romeo from 150 HP to 207 HP.

I'm supposing something about the air temperatures... considering that the nozzle is inserted before the IC.

Lower Temperatures increases the air volume in the pipe but the engine is probably keeping the same amount of air... This might mean that there is an excess of air... :?: is it possible?? :?:

Any other ideas?

Hello Prometeus,

This is a very interest question, I am not sure what is happening especially water is injected after the turbo.

I wonder if anyone else have this happening to their turbo after WI ?

Did you increase the boost pressure? Overspeeding the turbo may cause failure sometimes.

Yes Richard, Mario increased the boost but not so high. Anyway we've discovered that it is a common problem... not due to aquamist, but a trouble that affect Alfa turbine by themself. Some of them are rubbish (at all Mario changed 5 plus 2 on Aquamist cars.) :roll:

Anyway, by changing the topic the topic question now might be:

Is coming more air from the turbo by introducing water to decrease air temperatures???

Thank you.
