I was thinking, as you do from time to time, about the portential of having the Water Injection triggered by an air charge temp sensor?

Is this possible by intercepting the air charge temp sensors wire on the sensor at the neck of the intercooler outlet pipe?

I was thinking this as my WI is not working at the moment, due to having to pick a new mounting point for the jet post new intercooler fitment, and I have not missed it due to it being Winter.

Sorry, I was miles away.

The idea of using air temperature sensor to trigger WI has been done on the rally car by FORD in the early 90s- the Escort Cosworth.
The ECU switches on the WI (on/off system) over 5psi at 40C and turns off at 32C. The only problem I can see this used for the street car is "load". Rally car rarely comes off the throttle once it starts.

It has been used on street car successfully but it will require good ECU mapping to manage the fuel and ignitionmap based on water flow. Without careful managment planning, over cooling in the cylinder may occur and large amout of water is being used during the "on" period.

It is one step better than just the on/off system.
