Mazdaspeed 3

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

I have an aftermarket electronic boost control solenoid running in 3-port interrupt mode. It plugs into the stock harness, just like the stock solenoid. The same principles apply when tuning for it, but it requires much less wastegate duty cycle (at least 25% less) than the stock solenoid.

Can I still follow the wiring diagram above? Or does it need to be wired differently? Here is a link to the product and manual:

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

Yes, you can continue using the above wiring diagram. We just cut the PWM signal to the BCV. It will work with any valve.

One reason for a lower duty cycle is needed on the grimmmspeed valve is probably due to slightly larger orifice in the ports.

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

im wondering what year mazdaspeed this diagram is for. I have a 2007 and im looking at the ecu connector pinout and it seems slightly different. The #1 fuel injector coil - on the sheet im looking at says its 2BA not 2BB. Is there any way to verify this?

Nevermind that example is correct ignore that post.

Where would I cut in order for this application? Or is this something you guys do prior?

If you place an order from our online shop, we will make the necessary modifications for you. But do make a comment at check out to be sure.

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

I have the kit already just wondering where the cut point is

Richard L 13-04-2015 05:11 PM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

If you have the kit already, go to page 21 of the user manual. If you have lost the used manual, you can download it from here. Version 3.

So on number 6 cut the connection to the negative?

"6" Connection is for alter map sensor ranges.
Not sure what you meant by negative.

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

I think I know what you are after....

Yes, you can follow the diagram exactly.

jdraps13 13-04-2015 06:03 PM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

on page 21, 1-6 is for customizing the board, #6 is pwm and it is connected to the negative,
for my 3 port ebcs is that the one i cut

Richard L 13-04-2015 06:47 PM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

Now I am really confused.

Can you tell me exact what you want the system to do for you. You referred to a old post on BCV, not MPS sensor range.

Start again.

This is what I'm trying to sort out

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

OK, ignore the page 21 posts.

You don't need to do anything different to the system wiring. Just wiring it up as it is the factory BCV.

Okay thank you, so i soldered the stuff as the diagram says except soldered the 3 instead of 2 for my 3 bar map sensor, and set up the jumpers as diagram said but was missing one so pulled the one off PRK and used it instead is that okay?

Do not follow the jump on the previous diagram, they are not accurate. Go by the gold dots (default). Have you solder linked the x2.5 and cut x1?

Yeah I did cut 1 and soldered 2.5, as for default jumpers make sure one is on each gold dot?

Richard L 14-04-2015 08:40 AM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

yes, those are the default positions to get you started.

Hey Richard having troubles setting up my failsafe, seems to be spraying with next to no load, my sc is set at 6 bars I think wh is set properly but can't figure out how to set WL proper, how might I delay spray

What is the position of the "THRES" on the controller?

jdraps13 03-05-2015 06:25 PM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

I followed the instructions and aet fully counter clockwise still

Fully counter-clockwise is for testing only. Set it to 10am and see if you can set the WL.

jdraps13 03-05-2015 09:39 PM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

Ok so it's not spraying with every blimp of the throttle now but, still can't seem to get the lower failsafe to trip maybe my upper is set too high

Richard L 04-05-2015 07:38 AM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

What are the settings for the following:
(face of a clock)

THRES ....... ?
SC .............?
WL ............ ?
WH ..........?

Let me know.

jdraps13 04-05-2015 12:09 PM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

Thresh 12am
Sc 2am
WL 1am
WH 11am

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

One last thing I was checking out the wiring and I am wondering if I set up 2AA wrong, For the wire that needed to be cut I used one posi lock with brown and 2AA connected to one end and white and 2AA to the other is that correct or should use two posi locks? One for brown and one end of 2AA and the other for white and 2AA so there is no more connection for 2AA, thanks Richard

Richard L 05-05-2015 08:29 AM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

Have you cut the 2AA wire into two halves?

jdraps13 05-05-2015 01:04 PM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

Yes I sorted that out now use two posi locks instead of just the one lower limit failsafe is still giving me s hard time tho

Failsafe has to be set in real time. Since I am not going to be there. I need you to be my eyes and ears.

I like you to do some test for me:

1. Put the DHB jumper to DFS for the time being to disable the failsafe.
2. Move the PRK jumper to FDC. This shows the fuel flow.

Tell me how many bar you see on the gauge at wot.

Just a matter of interest, could you not get any support from your supplier?

jdraps13 05-05-2015 11:09 PM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

Did what you asked and 7 bars popped up on gauge at wot, no feedback from supplier cause they have never installed Aquamist before

Richard L 06-05-2015 11:58 AM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

Thank you.

1. Your fuel idc is maxed out around 70-75%. Now reinstate the jumper back to PRK.
2. DFS back to DHB to reinstate the failsafe.

Next steps:
3. Set the THRES to 10am
4. Set the "GAIN" trimmer to 1pm to match the f-idc for the aquamist.

Questions:
5. Tell me how many bars on the gauge this time.

So far so good

jdraps13 08-05-2015 12:25 PM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

ok sounds good I'll get back to ya

At wot I am getting 6 bars on gauge

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

Now set your WL to 10am and WH at 2pm, does the failsafe trigger ttis time?

jdraps13 09-05-2015 02:11 PM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

No failsafe triggered

jdraps13 09-05-2015 02:13 PM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

And my spray seems to be sorta tic, anytime Idc is over 9 in spraying, slow accelerations cruising on highway? Wierd

Richard L 12-05-2015 02:18 PM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

What is the serial number of your controller?

jdraps13 12-05-2015 03:35 PM

Re: Mazdaspeed 3

Serial number is #121688
It's like it doesn't like my idc, sprays all the time pretty much even low throttle blimps and cruising, should I try running it boost based?
