HFS4 Ethanol question

1 Attachment(s)
Hello,

It's hard for me to obtain methanol at the moment. I'm trying to find alternatives. I've attached picture of 96% Ethanol I can buy almost everywhere. Also 70% is available. My car was mapped for 50:50 methanol mixture. Please advice is it safe to use ethanol for some short period, which one 96% or 70% and should I use mixture or pure? In case of mixture with distilled water which percentage to use? Thank you

Re: HFS4 Ethanol question

It depends on what the other 4% is. Could be harmless or ruin the system.

Re: HFS4 Ethanol question

Ethanol is considered more as a fuel than methanol, it contain more energy per unit than methanol. If you spray high concentration of ethanol, your engine will get rich.

I suggest running no more than W40/E60.
