Water Level light

I have had my Hfs 3 working flawless for a few months but one dat I noticed I wasn't getting full boost then looked at the aquamist gauge water level light was on. I think fill the tank full now any time the aquamist activates the water light turns on and activates the failsafe but the water injection light doesn't turn on like it was hitting a failsafe. If anyone has had this issue any input would be appreciated I will pull the bumper off soon and look at the level sensor and connection

Re: Water Level light

I have tried today turning the WL CW a few clicks and I get a failsafe activated. Then I turn it back (CCW) 2 no Water Injection Light but the Water Level light comes on and the tank is full. Tried full CCW and the Water Level light still comes on with initial injection and goes way after the failsafe is reset.

Re: Water Level light

I have tried today disconnecting the water level sensor and still does the same thing where the water level light comes on without the water injection light coming on and going into a failsafe. I reset up SC and WH and WL and still I get a water level light on initial boost and it stays on till it stops injecting. The light is not flashing like as if I was out of water

where is the pump located?

tezlum 08-06-2018 08:25 AM

Re: Water Level light

I have the pump located in my front bumper/ fender behind my fog light away from the rad and exhaust

Re: Water Level light

There is a chance the pump is seized. It should never be mounted in the engine bay.

I do have in a compartment that see no water and very minimal heat no more than inside the car, is there a diffinative way of testing if the pump is the issue because I pulled the jets earlier and I got a good spray pattern

I had taken my pump apart and found it was slightly corroded on a few screws and the walls would still be enough to cause an issue like just the water light coming on

you are looking at the wring end. Open up the pump head.

I got that part of the pump apart looked like not much water intrusion there. All the bearings spin freely, But if you think I need a new pump I'll order one as I'm going to get your dual tank set up so I can move it into the trunk so I don't damage anything further.

This is good news. I like you to examine the wiring underneath the relay as well as the relay contacts.

I got the pump all reassembled and purged the lines pre fav then purged the jets with a normal spray pattern. But I noticed the water light stayed on when the sys jumper was on and with or without the fav jumper. The light turns off when the system is not injecting but on as soon as it stops injecting it waits for the failsafe reset then goes off

Re: Water Level light

I noticed now when hitting bumps or turning quickly without the thereshold being activated I occasionally get the water level light blink or stay on for a moment

tezlum 25-06-2018 03:58 PM

Re: Water Level light

I have tried testing all the contacts and wires for shorts and switching relays and fuses but still every time it injects even when in sys mode with the jets out still activates the water level light only and failsafe activated

lets go back a bit.

What is the serial number of the controller?

I don't recognise this part what is it?

more questions:

1. What car is it?
2. What is the HP
3. What is the size of your fuel injector

That part is the relay plug for the pump harness with die electric grese but that has been cleaned off now as I thought it might be an issue. I believe the controller is the v3.0

The system was made in August 2014, you waited 4 years to have it installed?

It is strange, you have done all the right things.

I think the problem is caused by mis-matching of the HP vs injector size.

I had bought it "new" last year from someone that had never installed or unpackaged anything from the kit. Would you recomend going to a single jet?

Re: Water Level light

I do recognize I have oversized injectors for my current power levels on 94AKI pump gas. But I have a 0.8 and 0.9 installed currently.
My tuner also wanted to possibly go to a just a single 0.9 jet

This is good. What jet size are you currently using?

Re: Water Level light

I believe the 2014 gauge shares the water level led when it activates. The new/latest dash gauge turn on both yellow led when failsafe triggers.

Can you check the yellow wire (blue harness) of the water level sensor is not grounded or corroded.

Lastly, unplug the blue harness from the controller, see if the water level led still comes on.

I believe it's the newer style of gauge normally or if I move the WL full cw to create a failsafe condition both lights come on then water level stays on till failsafe resets then if I set WL full ccw where it shouldn't failsafe only water level comes on every time it injects and failsafe activates

The yellow wire on the blue harness is not grounded when I checked pump and level sensor are plugged in with the blue ethernet unplugged to test for conductivity.

With the blue harness un plugged the gauge when car is idling has no water level light on same as before. But when taken pass the threshold it activates the w injection light and water level then the injection goes out and water level stays on till the failsafe resets

Re: Water Level light

In this case of both led activates, it indicate a failsafe trigger, nothing to do with the water level sensor.

- "Low tank level" led on = water fluid level
- "Water injection" + "water level" led on = failsafe trigger
- Both led off = normal

Which one of the above statements is not true?

Normally when not injecting and driving under the threshold both LED's are off.

If the failsafes are set properly only the water level light comes on under any instance when the threshold has been meet or exceeded

If they WL is set wrong to simulate no flow or the blue harness is unplugged so the pump doesn't run then both lights come on

This is not true... "water injection led" only comes on when the failsafe triggers inconjuncton with the "water level led"

Normally, the "water injection led" does not come on.

"B" light comes on when the threshold is reached.

Does this make sense?

Yes that does make sense and how you just described was how it use to be before the issue started.

The only difference that happens now is the water level light comes on with any injection and the water injection never comes on but it does trip the failsafe relay to cut boost.

If the aquamist was seeing a condition where it was out of water or the level sensor was faulted and grounded would the water level light stay on solid or flash

Made a video of the issue and when the water level light comes on by its self the failsafe is on it does this with or without the level sensor plugged in

I can see there is a short delay between the switching of the two leds, it is normal. It processes the failsafe differently.

Send a picture of the trimmers on the controller, The FSDL trimmer will affect the delay time.

Re: Water Level light

Have you solder linked the x1.5 IDC scaler? Your injectors are way to large for your power.

The 1.5 scale is soldered and 1.0 it cut

what is the serial number of your system and where is the water pump installed?

Re: Water Level light

The pump is mounted in the trunk.

I was able to adjust my WH on the gauge two clicks clockwise and this seems to have fixed my issue. I must have been just hitting the fail safe I was only getting the low level light illuminated though.

I will monitor it the next couple of days.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Re: Water Level light

The flow sensor has detect a change in one of the foloowng:
1. fluid viscosity change due to lower temperatures
2. build up of debris in the jet (partial clog)
3. Water/meth ratio change
