using kerosene to clean intake valves on DI engines?

Richard,

What do you think of using kerosene instead of methanol to clean intake valves on DI engines?
Is it possible on HFS-3? Could it be that cleaning performance of kerosene will be better compared to methanol?

Thanks!
Alexey

Kerosene is good for removing oily residues.

But do not run the kerosene through the HFS=3 system. It will make all the internal rubber seal to swell up and the system will seize.

Richard, does this apply to the FAV only or to the pump assembly as well?

This applies to all wetted materials/fittings along the entire system, from tank to spray jet.

We are still looking for a material (in particular rubber) that does not deteriorate in both alcohol and hydrocarbon based fluids. PTFE is great for both but not very flexible for some part of the system components.

so if I use kerosine for a long time - seals in the pump will be broken as well??

yes, the seals in the pump will swell up and eventually breaks.
