Hi Peter,
nice to read from you again. Your posts are always very inspiring.

May i ask why you switched to direct port water/meth injection?
I thought you where a very big enthusiast on pre compressor injection. Just a customers which or do you have any technical reason behind the change in philosophy? ;-)

Best regards

Thanks.

In line 6 cylinder and inlet manifold means this is only way to get even distribution.
There is also less latency in delivery which is seen when you 'properly' integrate into the ECU.

Re: RICESP Water Injected RX7

We got another car fitted with VQ35 twin turbo in a R32 GTR, this thing makes 912rwhp with 98 oct fuel on the knock limit on the Life Racing F90 ECU. Will be putting on direct port WI system once owner figures out how to get some more traction out of the car, then unlimited power with absolutely none of the proven headfucks of E85 that he used to run on it before!

If you want ultimate power, best durability, most usability and a true ROAD CAR, you cant beat pump petrol and water injection set up by Rice Racing :)

We got the first stage of Paris Hilton completed on the R34 GTR
Goes not too bad at all, stock factory std engine, with WI direct port.
Only on lowish level of boost at moment (~28psi gauge)
Owner now fitting up Samco Extreme hoses and proper clamps to handle the power of RR calibration and water injection love!

Two fast 'very different' cars.
R34 GTR using flat shift multiple gears, RX7 wider power band no flat shift only one gear change. (RX had two people in it on this test too).

Common to both,
*REAL STREET CARS (pump petrol, no E85 disasters!)
*Water Injected
*They keep on running (un fuckable)

This RX7 only keeps getting better with age, while the other pretenders are Green with envy being LINK'd to the wrong engine management, that blows up your car on flat cut gear shifts LOL.... this by contrast performs and functions with zero issues.

33 deg C ambient temperature, 100kph to 200kph in 3 (back to back to back) runs all in sub 5.7 seconds! (NOTE: 242 meters distance covered from 100kph to 200kph) see below for further factual comparisons

^ Little video showing the RX7 in action, while I cant divulge specific details I can say the engine is run to its safe limits all of the time (gets raped each time its driven), thanks to the advanced Life Racing ECU and refined calibration to make it all work. There is many accumulate years of development to make all of this work, in this car alone required around 240+ iterations of the final set up just in the control systems alone.

None of this is easy, you cant copy it, you cant google it, you just have to know what you are doing, and most importantly have the right team of suppliers (Thanks Richard for the fantastic WI system!).

No requirement for a boat anchor up front (20B or even worse!)
No need for mad max E85 fuel drums
No excuse like its 'too hot bro" or "no E85 bro" or "Got no traction"

Re: RICESP Water Injected RX7

It's all about knock control, running the engine to its limit (even a 100% standard delivered engine) when I was proving this system.

Water Injection, and a real not paper/internetz professional control box, and a person with a brain are all that is required. Seems simple but these days ironically it's harder than ever (too much wrong advice from nobodies on everything from shit electronics choices onwards) go figure!

FYI human reaction time to audio stimulus is around 0.170 seconds, given below example of 0.0066 seconds per cycle event, this means the rotary engine will knock>detonate at least 25 times before you lift your foot off the accelerator LOL :) "retarded" in every sense of the word, love the internetz education handed out by educatorz/trainerz/tutorz LOLZ :)

Anyway onto real qualified information:
It's easy with the right electronics/hardware/software, to not only see what is happening, but also manage it (100% stock standard 'fragile' rotary engine) running it to its knock limits all of the time in an active manner, and letting the ECU manage the spark timing. Counter to the 'shit advice' that proliferates the internetz blogs etc, this is the preferred way, counter to their claims of doom and gloom, ironically its opposite (wow surprise!) if you are NOT running a Life Racing ECU (set up correctly) you will have zero hope of relying on your new found 'pay to play' derived 'knowledge' since the nature of knock by the many variables that cause it means you have to run so far away from peak performance that you will either melt your turbine, have poor specific power, poorer fuel specific fuel consumption, and far less durability all rolled into one! p.s Would love to put up a jizzillion pages of information, but learned long ago too many copy it so as its all current technology stuff reserved only for the smart/loyal ones :) who know how to tell FACT from FICTION :)

Hmmmm, Really need to put up another graph of flat shift full throttle cuts example, with anti lag, and Traction Control!!! which some seem to get LINK'd to the wrong advice again LOL.........

Just leave this here :)
Unlike the internet claims RR knows about ALL water injection systems, we do this daily and at the highest levels on all engine types.
We dyno another car yesterday with the good old RRWEP140 mechanical WI system on a 4cyl turbo road car and she did 965bhp as well, but have to leave that for another post, very hard to keep up with them all.
On this particular application, the calibration and figures are lets say...... you wont find it on the internetz :P
100kph to 150kph power band test in 3rd gear listed below = ~1.9 seconds, real road car, no BS excuses ;)

some est power at 1100bhp, accelerates as hard as a built up VQ35 twin turbo EFR which dyno's 810rhubhp to 900+rhubhp.

Either way she has past initial reliability testing, and anyway you cut it is doing at least 970bhp consistently in 30+deg C days, 3 people in car and it matches the 100-150 time again and again.

Turbo is over its speed limit, but we keep figures to ourselves until the info is past its used-by date of relevance :P

This is with an OEM syncromesh gearbox 3rd and 4th gears :)
We don't make power 'claims' only compare results but a R32 with VQ35 twin turbo after dyno 912rhubhp (mainline hub dyno) will pull 0.45g at 200kph, this R34 (heavier car) pulls 0.45g at 200kph... let you and the internetz debate it, all we know is its.

FAST, RELIABLE, and DURABLE, all thanks to WATER INJECTION

Re: RICESP Water Injected RX7

Also of note *important*
Where the pretenders talk about drug racing and speak of runs times or use in seconds, we talk in minutes and hours, big difference when comparing one to another, anyone can make power on a Hype3000 guess machine, few can do it with durability.

Current set up has done over ~16 minutes at full power, your 'typical' maniac driver will average in a real street car less than 1% of its life at full load, so a TBO of 2000 hours will translate to about 20 hours on load.

This is what separates Rice Racing water injection development from the kids who just discovered it and claim to know about it..... we focus on engineering durability, proven, not claimed ;) a nice by product is they always have the widest power bands most average power, highest performance and they are ALL real street cars, not on bs ethanol or other snake oil.

Pump petrol + Water Injection, leading the way.

I enjoy seeing you and everyone else who does this seriously just as much, its what pushes all of us to do what we do. I remember the days when I was having 'debates' with total nobodies and self professed experts about the merits of water injection, such a fucking waste of my time. Today (not that it needed it!) while there is still ample bullshit and commentary from the youtube scammers and talking heads blogging their way to mediocrity one thing stands, and that is the total and utter superiority of water injection in the internal combustion engine. It's never been a better time to rediscover something that was proven so long ago.

Larger pumps in both cars now, correct.

When you have real roads cars that run all the time, you can prove performance on demand :)
See below:
As stated, they run, they last, they have no issues, thanks to Water Injection.
3.15lt 6cyl V's 2.616lt 13B rotary (on equiv 720 degree's crank measure).
Much larger heavier car, with allot more power, but when compared in real world at speed its hard to beat a RX7, and the rotary sounds so much better!

Re: RICESP Water Injected RX7

When looking to do professional WI integration this is the A Typical package we recommend, supply, fit, and calibrate.
WM50 is an integrated part of the full engine control system, feeding in live Aquamist status and flow rate along with other sensor inputs giving complete information to the ECU thus allowing total control over the engines calibration. This is a critical aspect in making the engines as durable as they have proven to be.

There are multiple layers of feedback and validations some down to the engine individual cycle level (at 9500rpm) which make the system counter any and all eventualities.
To date across multiple cars covering years and multiple thousands of hours of running inclusive of many full hours at maximum power we have not had a single failure and more specifically (to this thread) not a single issue related to water injection system being the cause of an engine detonation related event.... ever!

NOTE: not all systems are created equal, Life Racing and Syvecs matched to the Aquamist is a fantastic combination, there are literally thousands of hours of development time gone into proving it all in the most shit engine type known to man (rotaries) and we have proven it on these and others many times over ;) if you don't want to guess, or the opportunity cost is an issue to you, then PM me and we can gladly help you get on it ;)

Though I would put together a little bit of real knowledge gained over the years, this is but a small sample I have (know a bit about rotaries lol).... lots of it is pertinent to any engine really though, specially those piston engine types who try to imitate rotary idle characteristics with big cams :)

Some of it is of relevance in that you can go 'too big' and end up with an engine that is overly sensitive to map/tip ratio, also one that is peaky and generally a shitbox overall in every category, narrow power band, excessive fuel use, not as drivable etc.
