Recommendation sizing and positioning

Hello,

I would like to hear your suggestions on nozzle sizing for my setup. I am running a rotrex C38-71 on my 1.8L 2zzge engine on e85 with ID1000 injectors nearly maxed out at 0.82 lambda. Currently making around 360hp conservatively at 17psi. I plan on running eventually e85 + 50:50 water/meth with the addition of an hsf3 kit.

Also, I am installing the nozzle(s) after the intercooler. Where would be the best location to mount the nozzle? After the IC outlet I have 2 90 degree bends going to the butterfly. But prior to the butterfly i have a straight piping of about 13" before the first 90 degree bend.

With a 50:50 mix would it be dangerous for the blowoff valve and wastegate (for boost control) to be venting into the engine bay?

Thank you.

Re: Recommendation sizing and positioning

1. Jet size: 1.5cc/hp for M50/W50
2. Place the jet at the exit of the IC to promote best cooling and equal cylinder distribution.
3. I have not heard any adverse incidences the venting of M50/W50 into the engine bay.

You may need to increase the IDC pre-scaler to match your relatively low IDC%.

Thanks Richard. So even with e85, we still go by 1.5cc/hp..

What do you mean by low IDC%? I am currently hitting around 82% duty cycle on my injectors. Cheers.

If you run 100% methanol, go for 2cc/hp.

Your injectors are slightly over sized for the rate power output even for E85. So you will not be running 100%. Can you confirm what is the maximum F-IDC % you are expecting?

Re: Recommendation sizing and positioning

Well I think once we lean out the afr's a bit i'll drop IDC's to around 78%. The engine has a bit of short circuit/overlap right now which is a bit more than optimum.
