gm 3.3 bar sensor location
i have yet to get a preturbo injection setup rolling because i had to get my engine management system up to par. i finally got almost everything i need in place but have heard that water injection may throw off my map sensor reading. i was wondering if this is true or if there are any thoughts on how this could happen so i can mount my map sensor accordingly on the intake manifold.
i also am going to be running a gm intake air temp sensor most likely on my ic pipe 6-12 inches before the throttle body. i also want to keep the option open to also inject after the intake air temp sensor and before the throttle body. Thanks guys, -Chris |

What type of map sensor do you have? Most map sensors are mounted in the plenum

Re: gm 3.3 bar sensor location
i have a 1995 gsx. and i am going to use a gm 3.3-bar map sensor P/N 9373269.
i am going to put it on the plenum. just wondering if its accuracy can be affected by water injection? do i need to use a little system of baffles to prevent any moisture from entering the sensor? i will be making it fit on the plenum custom so i would only like to do it once, trying to do a little hw now. |
Re: gm 3.3 bar sensor location
ok after doing some more research on map sensors. i found a direct fit map sensor made by omni, they make a 3 bar, 4bar and 7 bar. so hopefully i don't run into any issues with water injection with the stock location.
thank you Richard L for the help. |
Re: gm 3.3 bar sensor location
I have used GM map sensor before but not sure if water injection will affect the readings.
Have you heard others reports about the GM snesor in regards to water injection ? |
Re: gm 3.3 bar sensor location
it was said in a manner that they didn't know for sure them selves but it might be something to watch out for. i am guessing they were just being cautious to uncharted territory.
