FAV for non aquamist setup

Hi
Have coolingmist stage 1 (1/4 inch nylon tube lines) torqbyte cm5-lt, absolutely need to purchase aquamist FAV to upgrade system to PWM.

What aftermarket fittings are required to adapt FAV to 1/4 inch nylon tube? I understand aquamist doesn't sell them.

Coolingmist sells an inline valve. Try them.

You can buy pipe adaptors from 1/4" to 6mm from Swagelok and others.

Do you mean a standard solenoid? cos I don't want that, has to be FAV, adjustable duty cycle using constant pressure pump.

I don't think your right, I contacted them and got no reply.

Shouldn't I buy the 6+6 mm fav instead of 6+4? Using 1/4 inch nylon tube?
Then I can drill it out like you say.

Don't drill, just buy the specific pipe adaptors from metric to imperial sizes.
You get them as simple plastic push lok, metal push lok up to the most expensive Swagelok stainless fittings with ferules all in 316l stainless steel.

Alternatively, buy a FAV and see if you can swap the 6mm fittings for something in imperial sizes. As a injection system needs several fittings anyhow, it should be no problem to go from 1/4" to 6mm for a FAV and back to 1/4" for you injectors shall you prefer that.

Aquamist makes excellent nozzles. I have used them for may years with excellent results. Never had one fail. You even can open them up to clean the internal filter frit and inpect the nozzle hole from both sides.

If you measure the id of the 1/4 hose. I can try it here. We have some 1/4" hoses here with various IDs.

Thanks for replies,

I had a hard time finding metric to imperial push fittings so just bought some 6mm&6mm connectors, they should be fine. Some people advertise that 6mm is the same as 1/4" as far as fitting is concerned, maybe why no one really bothers with 6mm to 1/4". I didn't see any pipe reducers either.

Measured the pipe with micrometer and its 4mm ID & 6.2OD.

The 6mm compression fitting from aquamist is designed for 6mm OD, 4mm ID nylon hose.

The ID of the 6mm metric hose is relatively standard at 4mm. But the ID of the 1/4" hose varies a great deal. We therefore cannot be 100% certain it will fit, chances are it will in most cases.

Hi,

While on the FAV subject, couldn't find any info on pinout. Does the Ground pin need to be grounded for any reason or just left disconnected?

Mattias

Thanks for experimenting with the hoses. Good to know mine will work.

Do you have know of any good pre-pump filters? You may have said the AEM one doesn't flow enough.

💧💦💨💥🚀😀

As far as I know aquamist are the only sellers of FAV type valve. At least the most popular.
