BMW Early N55 HFS4 v3.1 installation (unfinished)
Hi Richard,
I've emailed you about step two of the installation and haven't heard from you since Recall: I purchased a new HFS4 v3.1 kit from you, you emailed me the step 1, which is moving those jumper to x2.5 IDC pre scaler. Been emailing you about step 2, which I assume is cutting 3 and jump 2 for MAP sensor(cut 3.5 bar, connect 2.5 bar)? I have a 2011 335i N55 btw... Joey |

Re: BMW Early N55 HFS4 v3.1 installation (unfinished)
OK, lets start from the beginning so we can do it properly:
1. the power? 2. Tuning box or standard? |

2. Max boost 21 psi (factory 2.5 bar MAP sensor) across the mid range (3000 to 5000 or less), trying to raise it at the redline so I get more "HP" instead of high torque only. still tuning it 3. Tuning box or standard? I'm using Cobb ATR |

Good. Map sensor can be tested by moving the TRIG jumper to MPS later on.
Give me an update what you have done so far, such as system prime, purge and TST tests on page 11. |

Running two 1mm nozzles, both atomized well. Was wondering if theres a restricter inside already or do I need restricter? Boost are target to max 21 psi mid range so far because of the 2.5 bar sensor, redline will drop to 15 psi or less. |
Re: BMW Early N55 HFS4 v3.1 installation (unfinished)
Enjoy exploring the system for best performance. HFS4 has lots of options.
Restrictor is unnecessary. |

Hi Joey
I have recently jumped the bootmod3 ship and never got my JB4 to run properly so thinking of going the same way as you. Did you finish your installation? How does it work - please share :) - Niels |

Yes, I think my system is all ready to go, still haven't hooked up the light switch though. |

Tuning wise: I run a roughly 30% methanol, how does P/I-R affect the flow characteristic? P (fully counter clockwise) vs P/IR (50/50) vs I-R (fully clockwise)? Also for a 30% mix, should I lower the GAIN (turn it counter clockwise)? |
Re: BMW Early N55 HFS4 v3.1 installation (unfinished)
The default position should work well unless you want to experiment.
