50/50 Mixture
 

Iv recently had a big turbo package and water/meth kit installed on my car. The methanol is almost out. How do I measure the correct amounts to get the 50/50 mixture right. Is it one litre of each or do I go by weight? The container in the boot holds one gallon. Also can you use normal tap water that has been filtered using a brita water filter or is it better off buying bottled water. Any words of advice would be very welcome, many thanks.

it is 50:50 by weight or about 5l of Methanol into 4l of water.
Only use properly deionized water as it is sold in containers, e.g. to refill batteries.
Never use tap water, treated or not.

Doesn't matter if it's volume or weight, just measure the same way after tune.

Some, like rotrex do it by weight, others like myself does it by volume.

50/50 does burn with a nice blue flame.

Tap water contains minerals for taste, corrosion protection and health reasons. They will clog you jets, valves and filters.
