Audi RS6 - 2009 - HFS-4 install questions

I am just getting around to installing my AM HFS-4 system in to my 2009 Audi RS6.

I wanted to check a couple of items to make sure i don't make any mistakes:

I am planning on installing the nozzles about 130mm from the throttle bodies, approximately where the red arrows are on the drawings. Jut wanted to check if this would be the most optimal place for them.

The white arrows are where a friend has them installed.

Or should I be looking at locating them further back towards the inter coolers?

I also wanted to check the modifications that I need to do to the HFS-4 control ECU PCB based on the RS6 wiring diagram.

1. DI Compensation link (default = unlinked) – any modification needed?
2. DI signal decoder type (default = B) Do I need to cut a link and solder?
3. Fluid Flow sensor signal level scaling (default = unlinked) – any modification needed?
4. PWM Signal level offset (default = PWM (-)) any modification needed?
5. Air/Egt temp. Flow compensation option (default = unlinked) - any modification needed?
6. IDC PRE-AMP: cut x1.0 and solder 2.5 – I don’t have these links, what should I do?
7. MAP sensor type select (default = 2.5 bar) its link on 3, anything need to be done?
8. Flow sensor table (default = unlinked) – any modification needed?
9. Air/EGT sensor selection (default = Egt) - any modification needed?
10. Auxiliary failsafe options (default = unlinked) - any modification needed?

which version is your HFS? v3 or v3.1? The diagram you posted is for v3.

I have the 3.1.

Do you have the diagrame for the rs6 with the 3.1?

It shouldn't be a problem fitting the jets in the location you suggested - I am keen to understand and learn, what difference will it make where the jets are located?

Also will I be ok with the pipe length after the FAV. the image below shows the location of the FAV, I've installed under the scuttle panel, top right. And the 4 way manifold center top. It's about 450mm from the FAV to the manifold, and about 500mm from the manifold to the jets.

It is OK to put the jets where you originally arrowed. Moving the jets further away allow more time for the mist to mix and evaporate. Finer and lighter droplet size (after evaporation) helps better cylinder distribution.

There is no need to cut and solder on the v3.1 as the links are done with jumper links on the top side of the circuit board.

Thank you Richard for the explanation and the revised diagram.

If I was to install the jets where you suggested with the green arrows will I be OK with the extra pipe length from the FAV?

The system comes with 2M of 4mm hose. You will be a better judge of that.
