Where are you located?

Two possibilities for the abrupt flow:

1. Air in the line and pump.
2. Leaky y-piece (put a small plastic bag around the y-piece abd see if it collects some fluid.

There is something strange about the SC setting. It rarely needs to maximum. The B light should go off if the iDC is below the trip point. Unless the "WL" is set too low.
