Some fuel methanol includes a scent and some lubrication additives. If stored for an extended time I have seen it form a "snow" like stuff, that floats around in the fluid.

One good reason to have a prefilter in your system prior to the nozzles.

I have never determined exactly what that crud is, but have been told the source is due to these minor additives.

If it looks like a fine powder it might be due to metal corrosion of parts of your fuel system so it would be worth while to check for that if it does not look like a soft snow like material.
