Using plugs for nozzle mounting?
I am looking at an M57 powered X5D for a next vehicle. The swirl flaps in the intake manifold can get clogged, or break and fall into the engine. The cure for this is a swirl flap plug

They seem, at least to me, a good place to mount direct port nozzles as they are at the "end" of the upper intake manifold, and can be easily removed. Richard et al, what would be the best way to mount the nozzles? I was thinking to tap the back of the plug to the nozzle thread, and have the end inserted into the manifold opened up. Would a recess around the nozzle|_--_| be better, or just an angle cut around it \__/? If angle cut, what angle would be best? I'll be using PN 806-493 if it matters. |

What is the thickness of the plug? I think it will work.
I cannot find 806-493, what is it?

It is an old number, just checked. Thank you.
The new number is 806-501A (85cc/min). The old 0.3mm CV jet suffered from blockage if tap water is used. We re-designed the new jet with a larger orifice. Using distilled water is still a must.

Will the new P/N flow close enough to the old number to be used together? The M57 is a 6-pot, and therefore would need 6 instead of the 4 I got from the EVO owner that sold the kit.

Also, should there be a recess around the nozzle, or just an angle wider than the nozzle spray angle?

The older jet will not match the newer jet.
You need clearance so the spray pattern is not impeded, around 80 degrees.
