Turbo bike - sizing tank and nozzle help?
Right, i've got an 893cc fireblade turbo that i am building.
I will be adding water / methanol injection. 50/50 mix I want to build an aluminium tank to fit under the rear seat unit. It will be hard anodised to prevent corrosion from the methanol. Can anyone help me size the tank and also what sort of water meth flow should i bee looking at in cc/hour? Last one i built made 200 bhp. |

Re: Turbo bike - sizing tank and nozzle help?
if fuel flow data is not available, use 1-1.5cc/min per hp. Base that on M50/W50.

You might want to contact RCC. THey sell this for their kits. I will let Richard get with you on the flow requirements. What injectors are you running, and what boost level and turbo?

Re: Turbo bike - sizing tank and nozzle help?
Hi Dust,
No injectors, Mitsubishi TD04 15g turbo, up to 14psi. The bike is a 95 cbr900 and has carbs. I make my own turbo kits for customers in the UK. I'm a reasonable TIG welder so will be making my own tank. |

Quote:
I will do some static tests. I wonder how much flow will drop between a static test at 1 bar atmos and in the bike with another bar? Effective pressure at the nozzle could drop from 150 psi to 135 psi. |

Re: Turbo bike - sizing tank and nozzle help?
Flow change ratio is the square root of the pressure change:
150 sqr = 12.24 135 sqr = 11.62 flow drop percentage = (12.24-11.62)/12.24 *100% = 5.06%
