Old ERL pump control
Hi,
How is the old ERL pump controlled? PWM, if so what frequency and dutycycle? Do I need a PWM relay, or is it built into the pump? (3-wires. 2 thick and 1 thin) How much does the pump flow? Want to experiment on variuos cars on my dyno and have an old pump lying, but have no controller. I will setup a table on the standalone ecus to control flow. Thanks |

Re: Old ERL pump control
We don't make a pump speed controller.

Re: Old ERL pump control
Ok thanks Richard, but what is required to make this pump work? I believe the 2 thick wires are power, but what is the 3 wire for?
Thanks |

Re: Old ERL pump control
If you talk about the ERL race pump, the third wire activates the pump.
In a 2c set-up, this line is controlled by a pressure switch enabling the pump when line presure drops below its treshhold. This is a autonomous process. The flow to the jets is controlled by a fast acting or high speed valve through pulse width modulation. This is independent of pump control. |
