Re: HFS-3 was working... now a hiccup
Installed by HBspeed.
I finally have time to take the car back in this Saturday to see if they can get the system up and running properly. |

Re: HFS-3 was working... now a hiccup
System working as normal!
When I reinstalled my rear seats after my first install, I pinched a line. The pinch was severely limiting flow. I got the crushed section of line replaced and rerouted. Good to go! |

Re: HFS-3 was working... now a hiccup
Hi,
I'm running into the same problem too. I'm getting a CEL for my wastegate solenoid, but I couldn't really say if I'm down on power as I've been only able to get one good pull on the road before getting the CEL. I'm planning on bringing it back to the installer in a couple of days to try to diagnose the problem. I was wondering if anyone knows what I can do in the meantime to try to isolate any problem. The only thing I've tried so far is turning the WL potentiometer on the gauge all the way counter clockwise, but I'm still getting the same thing. Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Who is your installer?
Ir sounded like the failsafe is not wired or configured properly.

Re: HFS-3 was working... now a hiccup
Hi Richard,
I had the HFS-3 installed by the folks at WORKS in CA. They've done a lot of good quality work to my car so far. I'm thinking of just going through all the preinstallation tests again and double check all the wire and hose connections when I bring the car back to them. I believe the boost wire was "cut and spliced" to the brown and white wire going back to the controller box so the car would run at wastegate pressure upon failsafe activation. With the injection kit turned off at the gauge button, would I get a CEL or does the controllers "Anti-CEL" option prevent the CEL? |

Re: HFS-3 was working... now a hiccup
On the HFS-3. There is a option to prevent CEL. All you need to do is link up the jumper link to DR="1".
When DR (dummy resistor) is linked, it immulates the load of BCV (boost control valve) so that the ECU can not see the boost vakve is being cut upon failsafe activation. Make sure the brown wire goes to the BCV and the white wire goes to the ECU after the OE wire is cut. Works is a great company Pete is very careful but he needs time to get to know the system.

Re: HFS-3 was working... now a hiccup ::FIXED::
I'll double check that CEL link on the controller. I just spoke with Pete, he noticed at partial or WOT the yellow light or low level light on the guage would go on and the car felt like boost just dropped to wastegate pressure for a few seconds then the yellow light would go off. Also, I've noticed when I clear the CEL and run the car afterwards the CEL doesn't go on. But the second time I start up the car the CEL light comes back on and I get the same error code. I'm guessing at this point I'll need to check the "cut and splicing" of the boost line going to the ECU and check the spray pattern of the fluid lines.
