You can look at it another way, wet wall is lined with water. The first re-opening of the throttle, those water is going to be dragged towards the cylinders.

During this transitional period, it is going to cool the charge pipe. Don't forget there are still plenty of air moving to keep the engine running with the throttle shut.

Richard has a point. I experience a wet throttle body due to the post turbo nozzle after a high load run and then idle. The air temps keep going down although not injecting for several minutes and I have NO intercooler!
