Default Source of methanol in the UK

I'm looking for a commercially available windscreen mix in the UK that contains methanol.
They've apparently all changed the packaging and contain no information on ingredients. (Bastids  )

Despite the rumours that "Holts" windscreen concentrate does contain methanol, I've just had confirmation from the factory that it DOES NOT.

Apparently methanol-based products have been withdrawn from the market, so if the label doesn't state it explicitly, you have to assume that it hasn't got it.

Please try the following:

Methanol sources:
- Alcohols Ltd on 01279 658464 25L: ?44.00 205L: ?105.14
- Pertolchem on 0208 879 3090
- Cotswold Chemicals 01453 825292 5L: ?7.70 25L: ?26.04 205L: ?61.00

It will be easier if you look in the yellow pages for your local Chemical Dispenser Supplier and you can pick them up. Get a spare container so that you can dilute it before storing it - Dimin water is also very cheap from them - ?5-8 per 25L drum

Model airplanes run on methanol (hint-hint)
I paid about ?6/gallon. Make sure it's pure, and not mixed with oil!

If you use the stock windscreen reservoir, remember that many fumes will enter the cabin. Methanol is toxic, and doesn't smell.
I chickened out and went for 90%water 10%methanol, mainly for antifreeze purposes.

If you use a dedicated tank for the stuff, make sure it's plastic (methanol attacks aluminium)
