Default Pre turbo WI & post IC Methanol??

After reading the many informative threads on here about pre turbo injection with WM50/50 (by weight) i was thinking that would there be any benefits to injecting the water and methanol seperately?

water pre turbo and Methanol post IC? or vice versa?

i have also seen a number of times people mention the use of acetone along with the W/M mix. Has any body tried this or is it just not necessary due to the great effects of W/M??

Acetone could be injected post IC with the W/M pre turbo as i wouldnt think the acetone would have any cooling benefits to the incoming air to the turbo but injecting it after the air has been compressed to mix in with the fuel mixture before entering the engine to greatly increase the octane? More oxygen the better.

My thoughts:

I like simplicity
I personally would not try anything else, but that is not to say it wont work, just how much time and effort do you want to invest in re inventing the wheel?

Sorry for the totally useless post btw

ha. its not useless. I do believe in the keep it simple methods but i was just wondering if there would be any benefit todoing it this way? getting the cooling effects of both fluids but at different points.

the pre turbo water would increase air density and then the injecting of methanol would further reduce inlet temps to maybe sub ambient if possible once the IC has cooled the air before the methanol is injected.

in essence your pumpless system could be used solely for injecting water pre turbo, then a second system delivering methanol only using a pump system.

just as a side note, i was talking WI systems with my friend and he has told me if i ever need methanol i can have it free as they have loads of it spare as they run one of their drag cars on methanol, so hurray for me, free water and free methanol!!

Good news on the Methanol supply

My only helpful advise I can give after doing this for so so many years and having a car that works (that I actually daily drive when needed!) is to keep it as simple as possible.

Trust me you will get so much power and performance from a single Injection system that any level of complexity or duplication added on top will be not worth your hassle. Its all fun now and intriguing while you are reading and theorizing what is best or what would be better... but when you practically run it and then live with it and then time passes and you have the same system for multiple years you then think gee I wish this had less things to go wrong or to keep on top of.

Something with just one solenoid, one filter, one tank, one set up will be much easier on your brain and do most anything you could ever want.

Don't let me talk you out of it though just trying to give you so "in hindsight" type advise

It was just an idea I had in my head, but as you say simple is best. Mixing methanol and water and putting it in a tank is far easier than trying to setup 2 injection system at different rates to probably only gain the same out of the turbo and engine as pre mixin them together.
