Default Shurflo pumps and resisting methanol

For those of us with homebuilt systems, does anyone know how methanol affects the Shurflo pumps? The pump has a warning that says "no flammable liquids," but I don't know if that is actually because the pump can't handle them, or because they were marketed as a water pump.

Does anyone have experience with running a 50/50 mixture of methanol and water with Shurflo pumps?

Thanks!

Ahh, another DSM'er lured to water injection. Although my system is not complete, I am excited about getting it finished!

If you head over to the turbo buick forum, there are several guys running straight methanol on the shurflo pumps, with no problems. It seems some guys like to run a mix of something, either lube,or water, but that is also to reduce the meths corrosive effects throughout the entire system.

But head over there and see for yourself!

I spent one night and read through that forum to the beginning!
