Default Sensor and FAV technical questions for a Motec Driven Aquamist

Hi all,

I have a heavily modified Evo IX that is principaly used for track days in France. As I like spool, I have a small turbo that is pushed hard and, so, that is out of range...

So my IAT are very high (between 45 and 55°c).

I have an aquamist HSF3 Kit in order to reduce IAT. I want my Motec M800 to drive it automatically (no use of aqualist Ecu). I need a few informations to finish, but Richard seems to be on holidays and he can't answer me any more.

I hope someone could help me and answer me

- what do the 4 electrical wire of the flow sensor?
- what is the frequency of the FAV? its maximum flow capability?
- What is the maximum flow capability of the sensor?

As we will not use the Aquamist ECU but customised maps and failsafes (Motec), how to use the aquamist gauge to have the infos and to display alarms?

Thanks a lot for your help !

The easiest thing to do this is by link the green wire of the grey harness to the Motec. Set the PWM frequency to around 80Hz. This way, full control by motec and the HFS3 does all the house keeping work.

Set the "THRES" to fully C-CW.

Thank you for your answer.

In fact Guillaume (maybe you remember him and his Evo 6) and I want to connect sensor and FAV directly to the M800.

We don't use the Ecu Unit.

This is why we need the informations I asked before

Could you please help us?

Thanks a lot

You need two outputs, one input and 0, 5V

1. PWM to FAV (30Hz, 1.5A drive with 60-75V clipping)
2. on/off to pump (15A drive)
3. frequency signal from flow sensor. White wire of the user port
4. 0v, 5V to flow sensor

thanks!

Do you mean that the power supply of the FAV is not 12V?

I don't understand what "60-75V clipping" means.

Do the FAV has a 12V power supply?

The FAV does need a 12V supply. Clipping means you are managing the level of back EMF during the switch off period. If you clip it too low, it will affect the accuracy of the FAV in PWM mode.

This is the reason why I asked you to run the PWM signal through the HFS3 but you don't want to do that.

Ok, then we are thinking about revalue our position and follow your advice (connecting Motec to HFS3)

Can we still get the signal of the sensor (we want the Motec to use it)?

Yes, the yellow wire of the user port, flow in indicated by 0-5V.
