Internal i/c cooling with w/i or go for port injection?
Did a trackday on Sunday, 100 hard track miles using only wi for charge cooling, the Aquamist 1s worked a treat, never saw temps above 50c with the WI active/ on boost .
I`ve since fitted an underbonnet i/c and will be logging temps without w/i active to see how effective it is, but i know it`ll suffer from heatsoak stuck in traffic.. I`m looking at using the water pre-intercooler to combat heatsoak, anybody measured temps using water injection to cool them from the inside? also is the ic likely to condense the water removing any gains after the ic? I`m toying with port injection if the i/c proves good enough for cooling, maybe using knock sensing from the Megasquirt to trigger the water only when knock`s detected to maintain reliable running, has anyone else tried this with an aftermarket ecu? Cheers, |
