Default Dual jet correct position

Hello,

which is the correct position for a dual water jets setup ?

I mean the position in the pipe, if it is the same, and distance between them...

TIA !

Can you post a picture of the pipes?

The more information we have, the better.

What I would do is measure the temp after the IC under full boost.
If they are 40C or lower I wouldn't bother with a nozzle so close to the IC.
If they are 50C or higher then I'd fit a small nozzle there, no need to spray too much that could turn back to thick water dropplets again during that long path ahead.

A good methanol percentage would also help evaporation.

The other nozzle I'd fit as close to the throttle plate as possible.

Let's see what the others here think

JohnA,
thank you very much for your advice.
Let me explain better:
i already have a 0.7 jet close to the tb, but given that i have a log style side feed manifold, i'll for sure have a bad water distribution in the cylinders...
So my idea was to get #2 smaller jets (0.5mm), and spray sooner to get a better water atomization, and get the water even in cyl #4, the closest to the tb...
Are my thoughts correct?

Thank you.

In my experience, water distribution will always be a problem with a log manifold. Ideally you'd want port injection.

But if you inject 50%water50% methanol, then atomisation will be far better, and water distribution much better as well.

Thanks John!

Unfortunately, another thing i have to consider, is that it is not so simple to find meth here in italy...

So, if i had to use pure water, and would like to get the better atomization possible, to avoid some cylinders not to get the same amount of water, where would you put the 2 x 0.5mm jets?

Thank you.

In that case, I might be tempted to use use a bit smaller jets, perhaps 0.4mm.
A favourite location of mine is wherever there is a 90degree (or similar) turn, as close to the throttle as possible. You've got one there.
I like having the jet facing the throttle, so it injects to the airstream in a parallel fashion, as opposed to squirting against the opposite wall.

I would also time it to inject when boost is relatively high, and charge temps high as well, to further aid atomisation.
The idea is to avoid big dropplets after the throttle, because they won't turn towards the cylinders as quickly as the air molecules.

Cheers,

John

Where would you put the 2 jets in the 45deg turn?
Both in the inner side of the turn? Space between them?
I'm trying to understand the better jets' position to get the bigger atomization...
My intentions were also to run the higher water pressure that is possible, and run the water injection only over my waste gate pressure: i put a relay on my ebc to lower the boost from 2 bars to waste gate level (1.1 bar) when the dds3 gets an error, and so i'll map the car with no wi till 1.1...

Thank you.

external, bit like this one:

I'm not sure if it will display here.
If it doesn't, try looking half-way this unfinished page of my site:
