Default Where to spray the water before or after the MAF

The jet will be mounted near the mass air flow sendor of my Miata. Which is better - to spray the water befor the MAF or after it? Will the water damage the MAF if sprayed before it?

Default no water on maf

You can't pass water mist through a hot wire MAF, you get an instant CEL and drop to limp mode on a subaru WRX if you do.

How I know ??

I accidently got some water in my air cleaner box while spraying down my car at the drag strip to cool things off. It ran just fine until I launched and the high vacuum in the intake pulled some of the water past the edge of the air filter. BOG stall, CEL
