Methalated spirits

Thi s may be a stupid question, but can you use the blue, mineralised methalated spirit in your water bottle, instead of methanol?

That sort of stuff over here (Netherlands) is mainly ethanol, which will ruin the aquamist pump.

Make sure there's no more then 5% ethanol in it.

I've also found a source of nitromethanol. Is that any good as an antifreeze, and is it safe to use in the aquamist pump?

I've sorted out a suply of methanol now.
Jennychem - 01634 290770
There were realy helpfull. I'm running 1/3 methanol 2/3 water. Is that abot right, and is it ok with regard to antifreezing?

Depends how cold it gets were you live :-)

I run 1/4 methanol. Didn't have any problems last winter. But it wasn't a very cold winter last year,... -5 centigrad tops
