Default ECU Pulling timing with and without water injection.

I have a 1.8t and have been monitoring the timing with vagcom I turned my water injection off an it was pulling 5-6 degrees of timing in the mid rpm range. After turning the injection back on I was seeing the same 5-6 degrees of timing pull.
why would I not be getting more advance with the injection?

I am using 100% water and a 225cc/min flow

I depends on what`s causing the knock, I found my car was suffering due to hitting the octane limit of the fuel so had to experiment with methanol mixes, water alone wouldn`t work for me. Managed to increase boost 10PSI over stock and go from 28 knock counts to 0..

You may want to try a bigger nozzle and/or different injection sites to see an improvement?.
