Default Please help me better understand the TRIG=P+I setting

Please help me to better understand the use case for setting the TRIG jumper to P+I versus the default setting of IDC.

I would like to use the PI/R knob and currently have it set to the default of 12 o'clock (or 50/50 - IDC/MPS).

When I have the jumper on the P+I position, the B light comes on easily and I also start spraying a lot sooner. With this setting, I can see a lot of spraying being triggered even with a more "daily" driving style (significantly less hard acceleration).

Many thanks!
