Default Gauge Issue

I need some assistance and I hope you can help. The gauge for my aquarist hfs3 seems to be playing the fool

It randomly, and without warning, seems to cut out. Is there a way to troubleshoot the gauge to see what the issue is?

I at first thought it was the cable, and I ordered one from the website. Bit now I'm uncertain whether the issue is the cable or the gauge. (and the gauge is a little bit too expensive to buy without knowing for sure)

Thanks in advance for the assistance;. I look forward to hearing from you

Regards

After reading some other threads posted, now I'm even more unsure if the issue is the gauge, controller or something else.

Can you describe the nature of the "cutting out" in more details.

Hey Richard,

Sometimes when driving with the system on, the gauge/ system will just turn off by itself. All the lights just go out. Pressing to button to turn it on and off has no effect.

Then it randomly turns itself back on.

I've check all the wiring and the fuses and everything seems to be ok.

I was doing a pull while tuning and it shut off mid pull. That was unnerving

Is this is brand new system install?

Give me some history of the controller, serial number will be good.

Hi Richard.

It's not a brand new install. However, it was installed on the car from new for about two years. I'll check for the serial # on the controller when I get home. It's one of the red board hfs3's if that helps in the interim.

I posted the serial. Does that indicate which one it would be, or should I check something else?
