Gauge Power problems
Hello Guys,
I have HFS-3 system installed on my Porsche 997tt. The problem is; The system is working and i have 5-6 bars of flow, but while going WOT, sometimes gauge loses power and it comes back very quickly in about half seconds. It goes off and on again 2-3times during a 60 to 270km run. What can be the cause? My findings; - Take of the plug of WATER LEVER sensor. - Seperate the BLACK/WHITE grounds from each other. - Check the resistance of the grounds. - Check WL AND WH. (I have already set them to the limits. WL 7 o'clock, WH 5 o'clock, so i dont think that im reaching the failsafe) Anymore ideas? Thanks, Emre |

Re: Gauge Power problems
The first thing I think off is the anti-backout tab of the RJ connector. Try bending it out manually until it is arount 45 degress from the horzontal. Do it for both ends. If the gauge is insde a tubular pod holder, it tends to press on the tab.
I would try this. I don't think it is a fault trigger from the electronics.

Re: Gauge Power problems
Dear Richard,
I tried bending the anti-backout tab of the gauge, but it didnt help. However i havent tried the controller side. Here is a quick video of the gauge during full throttle run. http://rapidshare.com/files/42087265...00924-0132.3GP By the way, water level sensor is disconnected in this run to make sure that this fault is not related with it. I'm really pissed off, i hope you can help Thanks |
