Default Water/meth injection efficiency without intercooling.

I'm very interested in WMI but would like to know whether this method can be safely utilized as a primary means of cooling the intake air flow or best used as a secondary method to compliment an intercooler system. I know I probably need to be more specific regarding my specific application but thought I would start by asking about any operation restrictions, if any, that water injection has compared to intercoolers.

Thanks in advance.

I used water injection instead of an intercooler on my Supercharged Golf, worked very well and I did a few trackdays with the car with no reliability problems.

Depends on your application.
