Power will be affected by the tuning the injection mixture permits.

For instance using straight water mix, you can reduce fueling from over rich settings to an optimum power AFR - the water isn't increasing power it is permitting you to achieve a better AFR tune for power by suppressing knock that the tune would otherwise experience due to poor octane rating. Using a water/methanol mix you can reduce gas fueling further and the methanol will become part of the total AFR mix. I believe replacing some of the gasoline with methanol in the optimum AFR mix will result in more power than straight gasoline.

Methanol has a better octane rating than pump gas and water has an effective infinite octane rating. The real benefit of injection is that knock is suppressed permitting more optimal AFR tuning.
