Default Water or water/methanol, which is best?

My question is which is best at preventing detonation. Water only or water/methanol mix? When do you know that the addition or subtraction of methanol in the mix would be the way to go? Freezing prevention is not an issue.

The paper we posted a link to here suggests that 50/50 water/methanol provides the best detonation suppression and power results.
