Talking Tune results

I want to first thank Richard and Jeff for their help during the install and for jeff's help just prior to and during the tune the other day. Much appreciated guys.

Anyway, on my 2.5 hybrid WRX I gained 44 whp (322 vs 366) and 75 lbs/ft (305 vs 380) using 40-60 water-meth mixture. After playing with the tune for quite a while, my tuner set the controller to trigger as early as possible and set the gain to max slope. I have the dual tank from Jeff and we used about half of the contents during the tune (forget what those twin tanks hold).

We needed to set the controller to account for my after-market boost selenoid and to run
multiple maps as these settings were not made by the fella who installed the kit. But after making those adjustments in the controller (by the way, those adjustments are in the install booklet), the kit ran just as advertised. I'm very happy.

I will post a link to my dyno graph and mods in a day or so after I post on NASIOC forum.

Congratulations!

The torque increase is very good, what RPM was it peaking? I look forward to read it on the NASIOC or iWSTI - will sure help spreading some good results from aquamist. Thanks.

Thanks guys. And yeah, that gain in torque is just plain silly. I have a hard time keeping the nose down in second gear and that's with an anti lift kit suspension. I'll post the graph here after I take a photo of it but I believe the torque peaked at about 4000 rpm's with a steep incline from 3-4000. The tuner played around a lot in the partial throttle area (since that's where I spend most of my time) and said the alky really did it's job there and he could be fairly aggressive. Oh, the gains were at 25 psi boost. Holds all the way to redline.

Just a quick recap:

1. The HFS-3 is triggered at quite low IDC%.
2. The engine is receiving water/meths before spooling?
3. As the system tracks IDC the tuner is able to tune the partial throttle area.
4. This is encouraging as most tuners would only tune at WOT with boost based systems.
5. The HFS-3 appeared to faitthfully deliving the injectant over very wide operating range. It is good to know the system is performing consistantly as designed.
6. It would be interesting to know if the fluid consumpion at the dyno improve with daily driving condition, please update.

I would be interest to see what will happen when you start to increase meth %.

The tuner was Jorge at P and L motorsports in Franklin park Illinois. He set the trigger point as low as it goes. Under load, I believe I see the spray bars start around 8-10 psi and they max out pretty quick as the slope of the gain was set at max setting.

I also believe the tuners work was brilliant and I love the partial throttle response. He worked the system to the max and spent lots of quality time doing so.

I am not having any problems with cosumption. I told the tuner I wasn't worried about how much we use. I don't see it disappearingtoo quickly as of yet.

Richard, I don't plan on increasing the % meth in the mix. Currently run 60-40 meth to water. Can one increase the meth if tuned to a specific ratio? And, if so, what would you expect?
