100% Methanol injection evaporation/condensing/cling
Hi All,
I am discussing the possibility of a different manufacturers kit suffering from a back fire through the intake and exploding the intake manifold. The system was using 100% methanol. The people discussing this insist that it would be impossible because methanol evaporates instantly. However, the system in question used a solenoid to prevent siphoning and help shut-off when the system was not in use - if it failed, it would dribble 100% methanol into the intake. But, further, having seen some videos of wall-wetting in a plenum of methanol injection under ideal conditions, it definitely does not evaporate instantly. Thoughts on the matter? |
