Default WRX FA20DIT failsafe issue

Hi Richard or anyone having the experience, please help

I had the aquamist HFS-4 system on my WRX FA20DIT working great for some time now, however recently I am getting error code from ECU because of the fail safe(I think) and I have no clue if it is the controller malfunctioning causing the issue.

When I turn on my ignition the failsafe LED would come on, and I get P0245 error code.
If I disable the fail safe, everything works fine. I tried few mountain runs and it seem the system is spraying water/meth properly. (AFR reading is fine)

Could you help me to troubleshoot this? or is it the fail safe on the controller not working well?

Thanks
Jimmy

Hi Richard,

The fail safe was connected exactly as told from the instruction manual.

This issue just came up recently, before that I had the system running smoothly for almost 2 years already

to sum up the issue:
Failsafe off - no error code, spraying normal
Failsafe on - P0245 code displayed when engine startup

Thanks
Jimmy

Please explain how do you initiate failsafe on and failsafe off?

1. Check the DR1 jumper is linked
2. Put the jumper link to "DFS" can let me know if stops the CEL.
3. If it doesn't, short out the white and brown wire near the ecu.

Let me know. the above tests are try to establish where the loss of connection lies.

Post a picture of the jumper settings here

Hi Richard,

1. DR1 is connected already
2. Having check this yet, I will test this
3. I have already shorting out those two wires, CEL stop

I will try to set jumper link to DFS

Thanks
