Methanol contamination
I have just made a styartling discovery.
My car is currently off the road due to a smashed LSD so i decided to take the time to strip the alch injection down. To my horror i found loads of bits on the bottom of the tank in the car. I also found it in all my other containers. A friend who also uses meth has found the same thing in his tank too....... im also so careful to avoid contamination. Has anybody else found this ? What the hell is it ? Scott

Some fuel methanol includes a scent and some lubrication additives. If stored for an extended time I have seen it form a "snow" like stuff, that floats around in the fluid.
One good reason to have a prefilter in your system prior to the nozzles. I have never determined exactly what that crud is, but have been told the source is due to these minor additives. If it looks like a fine powder it might be due to metal corrosion of parts of your fuel system so it would be worth while to check for that if it does not look like a soft snow like material. Larry |
