Well It seems to me that others think they doing something extra special that no one has ever done before with porting when infact it has most likely been done before. Look at what people did when bridge ports got band in racing, they made the herringbone ports, or the tiger stripe ports.

Why don't you like bridge ports??

You can make a true street car that 'pound for pound' makes the same power, does not waste fuel, and is a true street car.
The single digit percentage gains in power of a racing style port is negated to ZERO when you run a turbocharger (offset by the boost) and its a very minor difference.

There is a big gain to be had over stock to my street ports but diminishing returns to race port versions.

Apex seals on the other hand ;)

Re: RICESP Water Injected RX7

Ah ok, so you would use bridge ports in racing? Even turbo'd?

Have you got the new engine and setup running? How are you finding it?

I have a bridge port motor and turbo setup, everything to make it work, including your WI system. Me and my brother are combing in forces and were putting my engine setup in his 1976 trans am! should be quite fun but I need to change a couple of bits on the engine as it has an FD front cover on and I want to swap it back too an fc as it is using fc 13bt irons. Is it a simple job to swap them over? Just a case of unbolting? Doing that means I don't have to make a custom sump which is a pain in the arse as it takes time.

Do you have a different race port street port too this one your trying?

Re: RICESP Water Injected RX7

I use full peripheral ports with turbo, it just depends on the application and what you want. Best way is define and be honest what the cars purpose is, then pick the solution around the known variables, its not too hard to do.

Absolutely love pp turbo, a friend of mine had one and the turbo was prety much spooled up on tickover, running at gt42 with 1.22 rear housing. He didn't have an intercooler though

Great!
I am doing some more design/manufacturing of some special bits so not much time to enjoy it :(

Here is a very quick mock up of the concept, now to get busy designing and making!@!!!@!!@!@!!!

bottom bracket to go, then need to procure the switches I want to run and add those, then can machine the poofters up!

Finished main part of design process, will finish off other little details like button placement and boost pot multi position switch and Andy's requested NOS button!

Looks good.

What's the main issue when doing that? Heat expansion of the metal moving the seals?

Have you reached the max amount of boost to run on your engine or is there still more in it? Could you run more without having to modify your WMI?

What sort of torque are you making with the HP you are producing?

Funny you mention that, I got sick of playing around with the small EFR turbo's and have a new 100% custom turbo being made :) will post up a pic *maybe* :P

Small EFRs?? Which one have you been using? Have you found they handle the heat just fine?

Turbo pictures are alway good:)

Are you still using the pectel/life racing ecu?

I have a few of the 9180's in various forms up to and including the 1.45AR turbine, I dont like them and they are a bit limited in power, especially once you have run larger turbos its hard to go back to a 'junior' unit.

Fucked off the Cosworth/Pectel items, they were a total rip off company to deal with. Nice product, shit company.

Those stock rotors look bad!!!

Have you matched the rotors to the housings they're going into? Do they need balancing after you have to correct tollerances

NO because once you start doing that then you need to reduce the lands as well, + apex seal lengths etc..... much better to throw rubbish housings in the bin and use good ones that are 80mm wide.

All engines I do are balanced after, but you can do this and not re balance and there is no sign of vibration or bearing wear, its a small amount of material removed.

Hello everyone,

Here i got a lot of knowledge regarding water ... thanks to al my frnds

RICE RACING 02-01-2016 12:02 PM

The best only getting better!

Still going strong, thanks to RR Water Injection ;)

Got some more things with Life Racing F88 ECU install finalization, fully integrating the water injection system along with true motorsports grade TC, closed loop ignition control and a many more features.

Have a higher level calibration workbook developed originally for certain customer requirement running a Pectel SQ6M which I translated over to my old MQ12, then refined it even more on the Life Racing F88, unlike the plethora of other hacks there is ZERO guess work here, all iterations done in a minimal of stress on components and time for the calibrator and customer alike.

Some pics.

EGT probe validation, you can only heat one at a time thus difference in Fr to Rr over time, but peak and base are spot on. And proper rotary engine proof foul resistant sensors that ARE! durable.

Early photos hosted on imageshack?. One day would have to load up on another spot or my own site but little to no time to do that/forums.

^ Water Injection will outlast the internet and be around allot longer than E85 or any other crap way of making engines powerful and reliable ;)

Here is a car running Richards fantastic WI system.....
Cant share info as its owners to talk about but video is enough to show how it goes at basic performance level.

^ Final settings on above constant ~27psi gauge pressure (sea level) or ~2850mB MAP. *30% more power than in the above video*
Car did 16+ minutes at full load (this boost, and rpm to 8500, 100% throttle) in average ambient temp days !33deg C.....

Remember, don't get LINK'd to the wrong ECU :) NOTE: unlike the shit box hype alternatives Life Racing will not damage an engine on gear cut limiters LOL, nor traction control, no knock control, and WILL work with racing M&W CDI systems :) Why people still fuck around with 'toys' when you can buy the same control units as use at Indy/LeMans and cutting edge motorsports is beyond me????

Next week updated Aquamist WI system is being fitted to match the race engine and it will be pushed further, all with reliability and proven durability ;)
