I don't think I can find a way to measure pressure without a guage. Do you not get any help from your supplier?

I suggest taking the 0.4mm water jet out and measure the water volume afor one minute, from there, I may be able to tell you the approximate pressure.

Well the supplier has been very good to me but no longer sells and makes WI kits so they don't have any specs anymore. The pump looks prettty robust and has hardly been used so I am hoping I can continue to use it . I may try to figure out the flow rate by measure the output but damn that is going to be a pain..

Thanks.

UPDATES:

Still waiting for word back from the supplier, but I did find a pump that looks exactly like mine:

http://www.pro-spray.com/sprayer_pumps.htm
I am guessing it the 1.4gpm, 100psi, but it might be the 1.4gpm, 60psi.
I hope it is not the 3gpm, 45psi.

Another question:
My current setup has the nozzle spraying about 8-12 inches away from the throttle body, well after the intercooler. I have read that it is preferable to spray pre-intercooler because this is where the charge is warmest. I am wondering what about pooling in the intercooler? Also I am wondering if it would be a good idea to split the line and have 2 nozzles, one in the same location and one just infront of the intercooler. Both using the same size aquamist nozzle I have now 0.4mm.

Thanks.
Thanks.

What is your ambient temperature? Water condenses pretty quickly below 30 degC. If your intercooler outlet temperature in cold whether is belwo 30C, don't spray before the intercooler.

I have a question, just think ahead, can you access the lambda reading?
If you can, it will be relatively easy to set up the MAF interface module.

I live in Canada so the amibent temp will range a fair bit. In the summer months when I would be using this most it will be between 20-31 degrees Celcius. As for the post IC charge temperature, I have honestly never measured it. The only times I have ever really experience significant decrease in HP was on the dyno without a fan, where we saw significant power decrease about 20whp because of heatsoak.

As for the lamda reading, I am assuming this means a wideband O2 reading? The car is equiped with a wideband O2.

Thanks.

I suggest stop using the pre-intercooler in winter.

I actually don't have a pre-intecooler spray setup yet. This was one of the questions I was asking, if it would be beneficial for my setup in the summer months.

The water pressure of your pump is set by a small screw at the font of the pump. The mximum pressure range is determined by the cam-lobe inside the pump head.

Anyway, the Shurflo pump will give you plenty of flow.

I just learned that there are a few others with similar setups to mine on the same car using single nozzles flowing at 7gpm (roughly 440cc/min).. They have been running them for some time with good results but it seems fairly big to me?

GotH2O 05-12-2005 05:08 AM

you got a typo, it should be 7GPH
