Re: HFS-4 Q&A, application for your engine...

Good Evening Richard,

joined and subscribed to get some answers from the source. I have a 95 BMW M3 with a Kenne Bell 2.1l twin screw supercharger, 60lb Siemens injectors, OBD I electronics.

My plan is direct port injection, post compressor, using six aquamist injectors on on the bottom of the intake manifold.

What are your recommendations on water/meth jet size and percentage of flow?

Any and all other advice is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

William

I need some more minor details please...

1) Do you have a chargecooler on the setup?
2) Can the ECU be re-programmed?

Rule of thumb:
100% water ......... 10-15% water/fuel ratio (360cc-540cc/min based on your 60lb injectors).
M50/W50 ......... 15-20% wm/f ratio
100% methanol ......... 20-25% m/f ratio

Yes, i have Laminova intercooler cores integrated into supercharger manifold assembly.

2) Can the ECU be re-programmed?

Yes, absolutely, has been many times before.

Good set up.

What water/methanol mix are you intending to use?

I think 6x 0.4mm nozzles (~750-900cc/min) with be enough for your application.

50/50 or what would you suggest?

Is the HFS-4 good for what i want to do?

How urgent is this project?

Ideally, you should put a checkvalve behind each nozzle so the engine vacuum will not draw the remaining fluid out of the hose after the injection stops. May be it is not as important as the engine has individual butterflies in each port.

Question:
1) If the Kenny Bell's supercharger is a positive displacement type, should it have a throttle/butterfly before the S/C?
2) Does the OE throttle plates close after lift off?

I have an american spec S50 M3. Individual throttle bodies only came in the euro spec motors for the E36.

I only have have one throttle body before the supercharger, traditional configuration.
