If you have a few inches of spare length on the pump cable, you can loop it down and up so water can not be trickled towards the pump.

Done that, also sealed the rest you pointed.
Now I need to wait for the methanol.

Great, I am much happier. Ideally, apply silicon over the entire pump (joking).
