AFR leaner than 12,5:1 question
 

Hi all

I would like to ask if AFR 12.5:1 with WI is really ideal target or it is possible to go even leaner with positive-power increase (and no negative-no critical EGT) effects? Im speaking about area of 13:1 to 13.5:1, with no presence of knock.

I have experimented with pretty scary AFRs (14-15) and that is where I've found max power to live when you have water injection.

Obviously I can't recommend such a practice to anyone because of the risks if something goes wrong with the WI under boost. :oops:

One could play it safe and aim for AFR of around 12.5 under boost with WI, slowly altering the fuelling as confidence grows :wink:
